Designing Scalable Workflows for Apparel Dealers
About
Chipply is an enterprise platform built for apparel decorators and dealers.
While originally focused on launching eCommerce stores (think: Shopify for custom apparel), Chipply is rapidly evolving into a one-stop ERP solution. From inventory management to purchasing, production scheduling, and fulfillment, we’re introducing critical new workflows while elevating design across the existing platform.
I joined Chipply’s product design team in September 2025. As one of two designers, I’ve had the chance to take real ownership—leading projects from discovery to handoff and shaping core parts of the platform.
My responsibilities have included:
-
Design user experiences from discovery through handoff.
-
Conduct user research (incl. surveys, session recordings, customer council).
-
Built and now maintain cross-platform design systems.
-
Collaborate with business stakeholders, PMs, & engineers.
-
Continually audit platform & initiate new projects to elevate our design.

Designing Group Products for eCommerce
Based on dealer feedback, we designed and launched Group Products: an eCommerce tool that lets dealers create curated sets of products (i.e., team uniforms, gift options) in just a few clicks.
We explored different flows to give dealers flexibility while keeping the shopping experience intuitive, then refined the designs through cross-functional feedback and carried the project through to production. Because this feature directly impacts sales, we focused on reducing friction and encouraging conversion.

Reimagining Navigation for Scale
As the platform continues to evolve beyond eCommerce, it became clear that our old navigation couldn’t scale. Our design team led the charge on a full redesign to better support growing workflows—gaining stakeholder buy-in and collaborating closely with product, engineering, and support.
This project required deep systems thinking—balancing legacy user habits with a forward-looking product vision. The result is a cleaner, more scalable structure that sets the foundation for what’s next.

Building a Flexible Design System
When I joined, there wasn’t a true design system—just a handful of Figma components. I spearheaded building a cross-platform system from scratch and continue to evolve it as the product grows.
It has become a foundation for our entire engineering team, helping us work faster, stay consistent, and elevate our design across the platform.
